The Great Horned Owl have wonderful binocular vision and can see prey from the tree tops.

  • After a snowy day this Barred Owl captured some dinner.  Mice are plentiful in fields and a major source of food for owls.
  • There is always the concern of dropping the prey, so it is held tightly.  When hunting they can turn their head and the noise of prey is pinpointed both horizonally and vertically.  This Great Horned Owl has made a big catch.

  • A pair of Great Horn Owl chicks.  All they think about is food and when will more arrive.  Their feathers have not grown in, leaving them a bit dishelved.
