The crash was furious. The fighting continues, the determination building and each taking stock of the other. Back and forth, pushing and shoving they go. They back off for a moment, look at each other and strike again.

  • This large elk did not like me in the neighborhood. Just after I shot this image he put his head down and chased me across the road and into the woods.
  • This bull elk became caught in a September blizzard in Yellowstone National Park. This was a fun day and as I approached he just kept walking away. He is very much at home in this environment.
  • Hidding in the tall grass this large elk suddenly raised his head. He is surrounded by beautiful fall colors. This enormous bull elk has a fantastic rack making an exciting and beautiful image.
  • This young bull elk has been grazing in a stand of forest that had recently been through a fire. The new grass was sweet and he watched me but continued to eat.
  • This yearling female elk is very friendly and unafraid. The evening sun turns her coat dark red. She is very curious.

  • A sudden September snow storm catches elk and photographer by surprise. The elk comes through the whiteness in the image and we can feel the cold and beauty of the snow.
